Countertop Review

This time last year I was packing up our house to prepare for our down-to-the-studs renovation in our kitchen, family room, and master bath as well as the addition of a screened porch. The family room wasn't originally part of the plan, but that's a post for another time. The kitchen was where I really had to plan and scheme, and, yes even fret, to stay in our footprint and budget and to get the function and look I wanted. I love a challenge like this, though, so despite some occasional frustration with my client (aka me! ), I enjoyed the process. A key "want" of mine was honed marble countertops. There are dozens--maybe hundreds--of blog posts, articles, and showroom sites that compare various types of countertop materials and their pros and cons. I read most of them and took notes from a lot of them in the months leading up to our start date. Snow Man

Big left to go back to school this past Sunday.  He didn’t want to risk getting snowed in here because classes start Wednesday, and it’s pretty unlikely classes would be canceled—even for 12 inches of snow in a place that has precious little snow removal equipment.
The Mister and I knew it was important for him to get back, you know, for classes.  Why, I bet he’s in the library right now.  Or maybe he’s at the book store, so he can get a jump on the crowd, pick up his books, and skim the first few chapters before class.

I’m sure he’s not posting photos of himself, night sledding with Lovely on his Facebook page.

And he’s definitely not posting with his friends, shirtless in the snow.  No way he’s doing that; he told us he was concerned about missing classes.

On second thought, maybe what he said was that he didn’t want to miss anything.

And that kind of warms my heart.

  1. Love it! I remember those college days of not wanting to miss a thing. :)
