Countertop Review
This time last year I was packing up our house to prepare for our down-to-the-studs renovation in our kitchen, family room, and master bath as well as the addition of a screened porch. The family room wasn't originally part of the plan, but that's a post for another time. The kitchen was where I really had to plan and scheme, and, yes even fret, to stay in our footprint and budget and to get the function and look I wanted. I love a challenge like this, though, so despite some occasional frustration with my client (aka me! ), I enjoyed the process. A key "want" of mine was honed marble countertops. There are dozens--maybe hundreds--of blog posts, articles, and showroom sites that compare various types of countertop materials and their pros and cons. I read most of them and took notes from a lot of them in the months leading up to our start date. One of the most helpful things was visiting a sweet friend's kitchen, where I was able to ask questions about cleaning, a
Ahhh, did you just love that????? It is on my wish list!!!! It just takes me away! I have missed you, but you have a legitimate reason!
ReplyDeleteAlexandra and I snuggle under a well worn cashmere blanket watching period pieces whenever she comes home. LOVE THEM!!!!
I was obsessed with Downton Abbey - what a fabulous show!! But I found the ending very frustrating!! They are filming this month - hopefully all goes well so that there are no delays for the next installments! I've seen the PBS segment as well - have you read Snobs?
ReplyDeleteLove it. Just trying to wait. Impatiently.
ReplyDeleteL.O.V.E. it....can't wait....I hope someone has an answer!!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I can snuggle up and watch IF this weather doesn't get any better! I'll have to look this up - never heard of it!
ReplyDeleteLoved it! Watched 39 Steps (2008 British remake) on Masterpiece Theatre this past Sunday and the new Upstairs Downstairs will be starting this coming Sunday with Jean Marsh!
ReplyDeleteI adore Downton Abbey! I cannot wait until Season 2!!!
ReplyDeleteI came late to Downton also but caught it during the remainder of its original airing here. Just last Saturday my cousin and I were telling her daughter about it and how she needed to catch it on netflix. We were so funny trying to communicate our fave moments without giving it away to the newbie - we were finishing each other's sentences with a lot of "ohs" and "I know"...too funny. Lots of good stuff should be in next season, some weddings perhaps????
ReplyDeleteHmm...right up my alley. I can get it on Netflix? The whole season?
ReplyDeleteFollowing you.
Loved it and am eagerly awaiting Julian Fellows next series. By the way, are you familiar with Monarch of the Glen? Julian is a regular character in the series...it is an old show but just as much fun to watch...you will want to go to Scotland after this one :)
